Life, History and Biography of David Adedeji Adeleke popularly known as Davido who is the hottest new artist to come out of Nigeria. Born on 21st Nov 1992 in Atlanta, USA, but brought up in Lagos , Nigeria, Davido is making serious waves in the industry both in Nigeria and abroad following his huge breakthrough into the music scene in 2011 with his hit debut song “Back When” featuring Naeto C.
Davido is a son, a brother, an uncle, a singer, a songwriter and a student. Despite the fact that his musical star is on the rise and although he’s booked for shows five out of seven days of the week David Adedeji Adeleke is finishing his degree in Business Administration part time at Babcock University, and has still managed to put finishing touches to his heavily anticipated, debut album (O.B.O Genesis),about to drop this summer via the record label HKN Music, which he co-owns.
The MTN brand ambassador, Davido began producing music at the tender age of 13. After a few self-taught lessons in various studios, he began to explore the depths of music while in high-school as a member of a music group. Keeping his eyes firmly on the ball, Davido began lending his talents to many up and coming artists based in Nigeria including
Dammy Krane, NPZ and more, truly defining the Afropop and Afrobeats sounds. Being armed with such talent, today Davido is endorsed by the likes of African music kings D’banj and Don Jazzy, as well as new superstars Wizkid and Ice Prince. Being more than just a presence on a beat, the young man has executed
the skills that have enabled collaborations with Nigerian household names, Tuface, Naeto C, Olamide, Skales and Lynxxx.
Since Davido dropped his hugely successful follow up single, “Dami Duro’ in November 2011 , (produced by Shizzi and Co-produced by Davido). “Dami Duro” is still currently number 1 on Trace’s Africa Chart and has topped every credible chart in this part of the world. Outside of Africa, Davido’s popularity is gaining momentum and he has had the pleasure of performing on the same stage as people like T-Pain, Keith Sweat, Fabolous, Cabo Snoop and many more. Davido is young, talented and is definitely not a one-hit wonder, he is set to stay put for a long time. The proof lies in his album, O.B.O (Omo Baba Olowo) Genesis, out July 2012.
