Nigerian Movie Industry - What Really Went Wrong?

The Nigerian Movie Industry (Nollywood) has really taken a different turn. I don’t know if I should say its from good to better or from better to worse. In the sense that the drama of these days no longer makes any sense and the title has no meaning. You can’t allow your little child to watch a drama if you the parent/guardian is not there to monitor the child because the pornographic contents in Nigerian dramas is now more than the message the drama is trying to portray. What then are we expected to learn or what lesson does such drama portray?

In those days, our Nigerian dramas were more cultured, more meaningful and more entertaining but now it’s a different thing entirely. For example, those days we have dramas like Conspiracy, Flashback e.t.c. But these days you hardly find such dramas. Even the length of the dramas these days are so short that the drama will no longer make any sense just because they want the drama to reach part 4 or 6 to make enough money.

How are we then going to improve in the Nigerian Movie Industry and start producing season films. We have to start now and learn from our mistakes and look back at the dramas produced in the past and know how to improve for the better. Remember the voices of our elders are the voice of wisdom. So let’s learn from our elders.
